There are many routes to choose from and we are always happy to provide advice. Here are some suggestions:
Loch Rannoch Loop – The village of Kinloch Rannoch is situated 17 miles from the hotel at the far end of Loch Rannoch. The single track road gently leads you all the way around the Loch with plenty of options to stop along the way as well as passing through the Black Wood of Rannoch, one of Scotland’s last remaining Caledonian Pine Forests. Stop for a rest and explore the village of Kinloch Rannoch with refreshments at the Riverbank Cafe.
Loch Laidon Forest Track – The track starts right outside the hotel and runs almost 6km’s through a forest following the length of Loch Laidon. This is a relativly easy route with oinly a couple of longish climbs posing any real challenge, with it being remote you can always get off and push safe in the knowledge no one will see you! At the end of the forest the track continues for about 1km where it suddenly stops leaving a fantastic view across the moor towards the mountains of Glencoe.
Jump on a Train to Corrour – Corrour Station is located 12 minutes north of Rannoch and has no public road access. There is however a good estate road network giving plenty of routes to choose from before returning to Corrour for the train back to Rannoch.
These are just a small selection of the possible routes in the area. Please contact us if you require any more information before you arrive.
