Our unique location means that we are always on the look out for unique people to join our team. The Moor of Rannoch Restaurant & Rooms is personally run by Scott & Steph who have been owners of the business since 2013. Originally Scott & Steph planned to run the business as a two person operation, however the success of the Moor of Rannoch has led to increased guest numbers visiting for both our accommodation and restaurant. We now require a team of up to 8 people in order to deliver the best possible experience to our guests in the wilderness of Rannoch Moor.


Our focus on providing a quality guest experience means that we are constantly on the look out for new members to join the team. Previous hospitality experience within a quality establishment is preferred due to the small nature of the team, but importantly an awareness of our remote location and desire to experience the surrounding wilderness is necessary for all applicants.

All applicants must have:

  • the ability to interact with our guests to provide a memorable experience
  • passion for fresh produce and quality drinks
  • a love of nature and the outdoor environment
  • be comfortable around dogs (we are a very dog friendly establishment)
  • previous hospitality experience is preferred but training will be provided

Chef de Partie / Experienced Commis Chef Full Time ~ Permanent Contract

£22,000 per year + Accommodation + Gratuities​

The Moor of Rannoch is an award-winning restaurant with 5 guest bedrooms located in the remote village of Rannoch Station. Surrounded by the empty wilderness of Rannoch Moor it provides the ultimate retreat for our guests to escape and relax.
Owned and managed on a day-to-day basis by Scott & Steph, a small team of 5 staff look after our guests to the highest possible standards.
We are looking to expand our small kitchen team with an experienced Chef de Partie.
Our restaurant serves dinner 5 nights per week with a maximum of 18 guests. The seven course menu changes daily and uses some of the best Scottish produce available as well as produce from our kitchen garden and foraged ingredients from the surrounding landscape.
We are looking for a chef with a passion for preparing high quality dishes and experience in plating food to an exacting standard while also confident to interact with our guests as part of their dining experience.
As we are a small team each of us also assists in other areas as required. For example assisting with organising stores, general kitchen cleaning and helping to keep the sinks empty!
Confidence interacting with guests is essential.
Due to the small size of our team, prior high quality kitchen experience is essential.
Confidence around dogs as we are a very dog friendly establishment.
The Moor of Rannoch is located in a very remote area which would suit someone with a love of the outdoors, wildlife or photography.
The role is a set 5 days with every Tuesday/Wednesday as days off.
Accommodation in our staff cottage can be provided if required, all bills included.

  • 5 Days per week/ 2 days off (Wednesday/Thursday)
  • Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday/Tuesday 1pm to 10pm
  • No split shifts
